God favourite way to test you ??

Well Pastor (in general), I am sure you will really like my money for your church building fund or your mission funds or whatever programme your church has and I suppose you define that as serving God.

That’s the most enslaving statement that is coming from the christian pulpit for a religion that’s suppose to liberate and set the captives free. Sorry, correction Jesus liberates but the church is enslaving the liberates just as quickly. 

Jesus came to restore man back to the image of God. He didn’t come to build a church full of Christians. Jesus is about restoring man not creating a religion and building churches. And for that matter all the gurus and spiritual leaders and motivational speaker is about Man reaching his fullest and highest potential. 

That verse should more correctly read where your heart is there your treasure is also. And by the way this Pastor Rick says 3 things : 1. God 2. Favourite way 3. Test you . 

God as in the Supreme entity that is sitting in Heaven scanning the whole earth to catch anyone and everyone that doesn’t pass his stringent tests . Well I wonder where you stand Pastor Rick ? 

Favourite way ??! O wow !! His favourite way to catch us. Just waiting for us to slip up. Am I suppose to enjoy the abundant life that Jesus gave me ? My innermost being is flowing with living water and money doesn’t come fast enough ! God gave Michael Mauer an incredible design inspiration, a thing of beauty and behold a Porsche !! Can I appreciate the beauty by owning one ? Can I drive it to church ? Are you judging me yet pastor Rick or is it God ?? 

So are you testing me or is it God testing me ? What an enslaving thought !!! 


I think Barbara here makes more sense and more sensible. More practical and more empowering. Seems like she is even speaking from experience and so much wisdom in her statement rather than quoting carelessly from some religious text which is so disempowering.

Well I guess there’s the Rick type of people and there’s Barbara type of people. Anyone I just reasonate with the way Barbara put it. Cool.
