Love your enemies as yourself (Another take on this verse)

Let’s take another look at this verse not so much what it means but how to actually apply it. Do we turn the other cheek ? We are told to turn the other cheek. Question is : is it to be slapped ? If you do please be prepared to be slapped again. To be stood up again. To be bullied again. To be put down again.

I think the distinction is in the intention not in action. Yes let’s say you turn the other cheek it’s not to be slapped but to offer reconciliation to offer peace to offer friendship. And not stupidly getting slapped for no stupid reason. No value add whatsoever.

However if you are slapped again in exchange for reconciliation and peace then your opponent is no longer against you but against the Spirit you represent.

All this requires training, don’t just go out and practice without proper training in such matters. For a lot of misunderstandings of the Bible has been a result due to misconceptions and lack of good training.

Love doesn’t mean you get bullied and next day you baked cupcakes to appease the wrongdoer. It’s not about appeasing. It’s about harmonising. Seek the Lord in how to turn the other cheek so there is reconciliation.

As in Aikido and TaiChi we harmonise with the force of the opponent. We battle not with flesh and blood. We are dealing with energies and forces. Our mission is to tame all energies and forces not of Love, neutralise it and return it to Peace, Joy and Love. The State of Origin.
